The Word Count Tool:

When I’m cranking out articles sometimes I need to see how many words are in the article. The reason for this is because most article directories required a minimum of 450 words in an article post. Often the article is just short enough that I’m not sure whether it will be long enough. I’m not going to count each word like we used to do in the 3rd grade when we had to write a “500 Word Essay”. I just copy the thing and then plug it into this easy Word Count Tool.

In this video I sort of babble on about the ease of writing articles. Don’t let this be something that you don’t do, simply because you think it will be too hard. It’s not hard. It’s easy. 450 words is all you need for each article.

On Article Writing:

Article writing is generally something that I do when I am waiting for other cycles of action to complete. Like, if I’m waiting for a video to upload, or a submitter to finish submitting some content. I almost never just sit down to write an article as a specific task. This is far easier than you think, but keyword research is of utmost importance.

I find it easier to make a video first, then an article about the same content. I need the link to the video post anyway, before I post the articles to directories. This is because I will usually back-link each article to a relevant video and the original post. Theoretically I could just transcribe the video audio as a process of article writing. But the idea is to just have something to share, then figure out what keyword phrases are the easiest to rank for, then write the post according to this. The article writing itself is very quick and 450 words is hardly enough to even get a point across.

So it goes like this:

I have something I want to post about

I make a video about it

I do keyword research to find the best way to phrase the title, heading and keywords for my post

I write the article sort of in between doing other things

I post the video using Content Buzz

I spin the article and post it using Article Marketing Robot

I then bookmark the original post using OnlyWire.com

Then I use Bookmarking Demon to bookmark the original post and my YouTube video post of the related video

And that is basically it.

That’ll be $197! Ha ha!

Anyway, article writing is a very fast process and is not something that you should shy away from just because you think you are not a good writer or you think it’s too big of a job.

The “key” is in the keyword research, really.

For me article marketing isn’t really about selling anything with the article. It is about getting links back to my posts with relevant anchor text. But I do try to make my articles so that they have good grammar and have something to offer. But realistically you can put 1 post on your blog and if it’s a long post you can turn it into 4 or 5 articles.

Article Writing – What To Write About?

Anything. Write about anything. Write up about how much you hate traffic. Write up how you don’t like your boss. Write about vacations. Write about the history of US labor laws… it doesn’t matter. Whatever it is you can wrap it all up in the author resource box. Many people think “Oh, that doesn’t have anything to do with my business” and then they don’t write. I doesn’t matter!

Here is an example of an author resource box for an article written about how one hates traffic:

“This author is a certified member of the He-Man Traffic Haters Club. You can find many exceptional resources, tools and help for building a business on the internet and instructions on how to make money from home so that you no longer have to fight traffic. Infinity Downline Reviews, Article Marketing Tools, Video Marketing help and various other free resources available via these links.”

With a little practice you can wrap just about anything back around to a relevant anchor-text link.

Once you get through the article writing process a few times it gets very quick.
