Not so many jobs available these days. Business opportunity from home is what many are looking for.
For some this is a major pain and they would just rather work their job, as usual. For many, this is a blessing and perhaps their first chance to break out of that monotonous rut, out of that trap called “employment”. For those of you looking for a business opportunity from home I would bring to your attention that MLM, otherwise known as network marketing ain’t what it used to be.
For many of you, MLM marketing might just save the day.
See, I’m a big proponent of multilevel marketing. I began in this industry over 12 years ago and I must say it’s the only thing I’ve ever made any real money at. I’ve been able to create six-figures doing networking. I have not been able to doing anything else.
This is probably the exact opposite of what the masses think about MLM.
Times have changed my friends. And MLM marketing has changed with the times.
The old-school pattern being taught by up-lines stuck in 1972 has shifted. I can hardly go on Facebook these days without someone pitching me on some opportunity. My biggest problem with this is that there are so many amazing business opportunities out there these days.
In fact, I can’t recall any time in the last twelve years, or any time I had heard of before that when there was such a wide array of business opportunity from home.
I did some digging and from what I found in various references, there are about 1400 new home based business started each week and the home based business industry is doing about $430 billion per year.
The statistics for many MLM marketing companies are soaring. This tends to happen during times of recession due to the hunger for income. People get motivated. Records are being broken. I know of one company that has recruited over 300,000 new distributors since last January. Whoa.
But for those of you looking for a business opportunity from home I do know what that is like and I also know there are a million pages of BS out there in cyberspace that you will find.
As a guy who has been in the MLM industry since 1998, and who has sponsored over 4000 people, I can tell you that it is a viable and legitimate industry. I can tell you that the fixed ideas that most people have about MLM, the negative ones, are derived from a few isolated cases from years and years ago. That, and the general lack of ambition of the average working man. I have seen first hand what it takes to make it in network marketing and if I’m honest with you I have to tell you that it is nothing different from what it takes to make it in any business.
Small business owners work. And they work hard. It takes a lot of energy and dedication and time and usually money to get a business started an running with profit. It is not child’s play. The best organization are the dedicated, tough organizations.
Anyone who thinks that they are just going to plug in to a program for a little bit of money and then all of a sudden they are going to be making six-figures is kidding themselves.
Perhaps this is one reason who so many people have a negative viewpoint on MLM as a business opportunity from home.
The great draw of network marketing for many people is the low investment needed to start.
I was looking the other day at the situation with one of our larger banks. What is see is a group of about 10 people, each of which making many multiples of millions of dollars per year, and then there are another 40,000 employees all struggling each month to make ends meet.
Sounds like a typical business to me. Network marketing is no different.
There will always be leaders and workhorses. And there will be the complacent and lazy as well.
But I can promise you that if you have ambition, and a willingness to study, that this is the best time in the history of this planet to embark upon and MLM opportunity.
The tools and resources, and those willing to help are abundant.
The internet has changed the entire landscape and we can now do business from our bedroom at 3:00am.
So, if you are one of the folks downtrodden by this economy you may want to look into this industry. It is producing wealth. It is not that difficult to learn. But it is work, like any other business. And it does take ambition and dedication to really make it.
But in the meantime, it just might pay your bills.

Hey Alan! Excellent, inspiring post from someone who quite obviously walks the walk.
Sites like Facebook have definitely put a new meaning to building relationships at super speed.
Problem can be the distraction as you mention with so many ‘shiny items’ appearing by the minute.
It’s easy to get sucked into the hype, but one has got to look at the ‘best ever’ opportunities that came by about a year ago and how many are still going strong.
Only a handful.
